Our client’s new extension incorporated this clever open plan landing which lent itself to a bespoke solution home study and hobby space which connected our clients to the rest of the house instead of tucked away in a little spare bedroom.

Keeping with the style of the house was important, so these shaker doors were a perfect addition, blending right into the character of the home. In this modern Fjord Green painted-look colour, it will look great for years to come. With oak carcase and shelving, the ‘modern country’ connection with the original wood floors and room doors was complete.
Regarding the design, an extra deep worktop for working, homework, sewing and crafting was a key requirement, with enough cupboards, drawers and shelf storage to run a home business in addition to keeping all household paperwork in one spot. There was plenty of space left over within the tall cupboards for our client’s many hobbies with room to spare. Open bookshelves completed the design perfectly to create a library and reading nook.
We are so delighted with our installation, we have fitted so much in to what was an empty corner. Everybody in the family has a space to call their own, and there’s no clutter now, everything is behind doors but still readily accessible, and you don’t feel at all shut away. Well done Deane!
